Morgan Park High School’s Orientation for the 2024-2025 school year for incoming 9th-grade students:

  • MORGAN PARK HS - Special Education - Significantly Modified Curriculum w/ Moderate Supports

Students must attend orientation PRIOR to the first day of school. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Orientation will include the following:

  • Synopsis of Student Handbook
    • Attendance 
    • Student Code of Conduct Review
    • 9th Grade Requirements & CPS Graduation Requirements 
  • Receive Locker Assignment, Class Schedule & Technology
  • Meet Your 2024-2025 Teachers
  • Meet Your 2024-2025 Counselor
  • Pay School Fees
  • Complete/submit any FIIF, Consent Forms, & Health Forms
  • Receive Information About the 2024-2025 School Year
  • Ask Questions to Morgan Park High School Staff

Students will begin Orientation in Blackwelder Hall (Auditorium) where they will receive an overview of the student handbook & expectations. 

  • Welcome & Overview: Administrative Team
  • Introductions: Grade Level Lead will MC
  • Behavior Expectations: Ms. Delaney, RJC, & Deans
  • Attendance Expectations: Ms. Rodgers
  • Academic/Postsecondary Expectations: Academic Counselors
  • Senior Activities: Grooms & Delaney

After the presentation in Blackwelder Hall, parents will be afforded time for Q&A. Students will report to the lunchroom where they will receive bagged items by last name (A-G, H-P, Q-Z). Fundraising items will be available for purchase on the Portico. Students without ID Photos will have an opportunity to take their ID photo during this time.
