Campus Youth Ministry Center
The Campus Youth Ministry Center, at 1825 West Monterey, offers a wide variety of religious, educational, and relationship-building opportunities for Morgan Park students. The Center is open during every school day and students are free to use the facility during lunch periods or after school. The Center has a chapel, classrooms, counseling office, music lounge, kitchen area with vending machines, and a basement recreation room.The program at the Ministry Center is directed toward meeting the social, educational, emotional and spiritual needs of the students attending Morgan Park. This holistic program includes:retreats, prayer services, counseling services, social events,social justice projects, and a leadership training group. The Center is unique in the nation as it represents an attempt by the local churches to bring positive experiences of church into the community for the young. The Center offers a pastoral presence to the high school community, and the primary goal is to minister to the needs of students and faculty as well. The Youth Ministry Center is a place where students can gather to explore their spiritual life as well as to gain strength, support and insight in making moral and ethical decisions in today's modern world. Students discover their own gifts for ministry as they minister to one another, to their families, and to the community. The Center is open to students of all denominations and faiths. A nominal membership fee is required. The Center hours are from 10:30 am. to 4:00 p.m. daily.Juniors and seniors are encouraged to use the center during their lunch periods. A schedule of activities is available at the Center. |
