Last Saturday the Morgan Park Mustangs traveled to Harvey, IL., and swept Thornton High School in a double header. This was a sweet revenge for the Mustangs, as they had lost a double header to Thornton last season. "It felt great to win two games..last year I felt the wind held a couple homerun balls from flying over the fence, which would have allowed us to win."- Senior Donald Newsom.
In game 1 Morgan Park won 3 - 1. Senior starting pitcher Steve Nydam went the distance and struck out 13 batters. Chris Rogers went 2-3 and Khyle Singleton went 2-3 with a double and single. " Steve is really starting to find his locations and Khyle Singleton is stepping up!"-Head Coach Nelson.
In game 2 Morgan Park won 11 - 9. Senior Jermaine Nolen went 4-5 and Junior Rotimi Omosheyin went 2-4.
The Mustangs are 11-9 overall and 3-2 in conference action.
